1. Server Manager > Add Roles and Features > Features > SMTP Server:

2. Check the SMTP Server check box and click Next > install. Install with all the default options.

3. Once it is installed, open IIS 6.0 Manager from Administrative tools :

4. Right click on the [SMTP Virtual Server] > Properties :

5. All the settings should look like this to make it work:

     a. IP address of the local server where SMTP server just installed:

     b. Click Advanced and add the below ports:

     c. Under Access Tab, click Authentication and select Anonymous access and Integrated Windows Authentication check boxes and          left the rest unchecked. Click OK .

     d. In Connection option, select All except the list below and add computer name which you want to restrict. Otherwise just leave the list empty and click OK .

     e. Open Relay… and apply the same settings to Relay Restrictions as step ‘d’.

     f. In Messages tab, you can limit the size of the messages as per your requirements. If you want to send failed emails then fill the send  non- delivery reports to option with a valid email address. All the bad emails log will be saved in “ C:\inetpub\mailroot\Badmail ” by default. So, you can check if an email is not sent to the recipient.

     g. Change the Delivery Tab as following:

     h.  Outbound Security : valid Office 365 username and password:

     i. Outbound Connections: Port no. 587:

     j.  Advanced Delivery: FQDN of SMTP server and SMTP host will be “smtp.office365.com”:

     k. Rest of the settings will stay the same.

Make sure the SMTP server is in running state.

Now, you can test sending the email with your new SMTP server settings:

Parameters needs to be used as following:

SMTP:   FQDN of the server where SMTP is installed.

A purpose will tell the system what to do with that email address/address. If you assign a purpose to invoice, it will know to use that email address/ address when sending out invoices.

I’ve noticed people right clicking on their objects and set the properties for text boxes individually, and while that is perfectly valid and works there is a better method! On the left side of the screen you should see a properties tab , but, if it’s not there just press F4 on the keyboard to bring it up.

Role Centers is a dashboard that can have transactional data, alerts, links, common tasks, reports and more. It contains Web parts which are located in zones. Web parts display data and allow the user to customize what data they would like to see. Web parts can be arranged into different web part zones on a page (Would you like this information to show on the right side, left side, Infolog, header, footer and etc.?). You can customize to show only information you are interested in. There are two types of views: personal and shared. Personal means that you are customizing the role center so only you can see the customized view. Shared is when everyone can view the customizations.
