 Bredet's Community Contributions for 2012 at a Glance
Bredet Services, has been busy over the year focusing on community events, along with providing excellent CRM and ERP software solutions to our customers. The Bredet Team understands the importance of giving back to our community through charitable programs. Here are a few recipients of our community work for the current and previous years:
22nd Annual Children's Wish Car Rally 
Debbie Breuls, President of Bredet Services, has always been passionate about working with the Children's Wish Foundation. Debbie, the Bredet staff and a group of committed volunteers, put in a great deal of effort organizing this 2 day event, that is fun for the adults, but more importantly, benefits the children of the Children's Wish Foundation. In 2012, the 22nd Annual Children's Wish Car Rally raised over $36, 000 dollars!
For those that are not familiar with this event, the car rally is much like a scavenger hunt in your car with some of your closest friends. This is how the typical Car Rally schedule operates:
- The Children's Wish Annual Car Rally always begins on a Saturday morning in the fall. All participants meet in their team vehicle at pre-scheduled location; typically a school or an office building.
- From there, the volunteers provide the participants (teams) with a coded map and a list of clue questions. Teams must decipher the map and answer the clue questions along the route.
- The objective is to decipher the maps, answer the clue questions correctly and get to the final destination as quickly as possible.... without speeding of course! The destination is always unknown; it's part of the excitement of the rally.
- The arrival at the destination is just the beginning. The destination is always at beautiful hotel, with excellent accommodations and dining room. A sit down dinner and auction follow the rally, as well as dancing later in the evening. Oh, and did I mention the winners are announced?
- Generally one of the most enjoyed portions of the event, is having the opportunity to hear from a parent of a child who has experienced A Wish from the Children's Wish Foundation. Participants have the opportunity to hear first hand how their past years contributions are benefiting and enriching the lives of children affected by life threatening medical conditions.
- On Sunday Morning, there is typically a buffet breakfast and all participants have a chance get together before the Children's Wish Car Rally comes to a close for another year.

Terry Fox Run in Oakville
In September 2012, Bredet employees participated in the Annual Terry Fox run in Oakville, ON.
In 1980, Terry Fox demonstrated such a strong, positive will, in the wake of being diagnosed with cancer, by deciding to run across Canada on a prosthetic leg to raise funds for cancer research. Terry knew he faced an immense challenge, however, after running the equivalent of nearly a marathon a day for 143 days, he was forced to stop when the cancer recurred in his lungs.
Participants in Oakville, ON chose to either run, walk, bicycle, board, in-line skate, push a stroller or walk the dog along a five-kilometre or 10K route, as well as took part in a 2K family walk/run. Bredet Donates Through Community Care, Apsley, ON 
Through a network of community offices throughout the City and County of Peterborough, Community Care staff and volunteers provide a variety of essential services to seniors (60+) and adults with physical challenges (18+) empowering them to live at home. However, Community Care also assists in connecting individuals or families within the community who are struggling to make ends meet, with donors who can lend a helping hand.
In 2011, Bredet donated a year's worth of wood to a needy family to keep them warm and comfortable.
In 2012, Bredet made a financial donation through Community Care Leaders in the community of Apsley to provide shoes for needy children whose misfortunes didn't allow them to have proper indoor school shoes.

Children'sWish Foundation - Relive the day with our tweets!
The Annual Children's Wish Car Rally celebrated their 21st Anniversary on November 5th, 2011 and raised $25,985.00!
The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is a non-profit organization whose commitment is to grant the wishes of children between the ages of three and seventeen who have been diagnosed with a life threatening illness. The wishes are as individual as the children who make them, and because of groups like ours, we make these wishes come true!
When the Annual Children's Wish Car Rally began in 1990, th avergae cost of a wish was $3,000.00. That number has increased to close to $10,000.00, and we need to continue to raise the bar. With the support of all of you and the corporations that donated monies and silent auction items, we want to sincerely extend our heartfelt thanks for all you have done. Read more.

Halton Women's Place - Complimentary Software Upgrade
Bredet Services has decided to do something different this time around. Instead of donating our time to an event, we've contributed to the community by providing our resources, skills, and expertise in the latest software upgrade for Halton Women's Place at no charge.
The organization can now use that spare money to continue to help women and children in the Halton region. Janice Hamilton, Business Manager, writes; "I am writing to thank you for Bredet’s generous donation of time and expertise regarding our recent upgrade installation of Accpac. Your staff member was efficient and the transition was seamless. We appreciate your support and highly recommend Bredet Services to any company seeking accounting software".

Halton Women's Place
On August 11th Bredet Services once again contributed to their local community in sponsoring an event for Halton Women's Place. For the second year in a row, Bredet's staff assisted with their summer carnival, a festivity that was completely free of charge for all women and children. Read more.

Last year we raised an impressive $31,145.00!

We had two of our own "Wish” families attend this year and most of the Bredet Team also joined in the fun. Nothing like a little in-house competition to keep the lunch room buzzing. Read more.
