Thanks to funding provided by the Government of Ontario, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) has created the SMART Program to help small and medium-sized manufacturers in Ontario improve their productivity so they can compete more effectively in the global economy. The CME is looking for productivity improving projects, such as IT best practices, so that they can support 50% of the funding with up to $50,000.

Projects Eligible for SMART Funding:

• Lean manufacturing
• Lean design
• Energy efficiency
• Quality improvement
• IT best practices
• Environmental impact reduction
• Health and Safety

At minimum the primary focus of your project must be on improving your operational efficiency. Ideally the project will not just improve your efficiency incrementally, but transform the way you do business and make your company substantially more competitive.
